Hart taught secondary art for nearly two decades while maintaining her own studio practice. Her teaching has included drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, aesthetics, AP Studio Art, portfolio development, competition preparation, private instruction, curriculum enrichment, and long-term mentorship.
The emphasis is rigorous but individual: close observation, strong fundamentals, material fluency, purposeful experimentation, and an understanding of aesthetics—why visual choices carry meaning, how context changes what we see, and how students can make thoughtful judgments about their own work. Across two- and three-dimensional media, the goal is to help each student develop a visual voice rather than imitate a prescribed style.
